Well, I couldn’t take it anymore. I hadn’t done anything crafty for over two months due to being on the road, quite different from back home where one room of the apartment was essentially my crafting domain. So I took a trip to the craft store for some embroidery supplies.
I had been pinning things to my Pinterest embroidery board and have been inspired to make two gifts for friends back home. However, it has been a while since I last embroidered and I’ve never done any coloured-in pieces, just words or outlining; I thought I should practise first. I wanted to try giving the impression of fur, hence the directional stitches.
The blog post title is a bit of a pun. The rabbit is saying “oui” (French for “yes”), which J suggested. When I went to describe this bunny on Facebook I called it “a wee bunny” (wee as in tiny) and then realised that “a oui bunny” was just as correct for a description, and it sounds the same. I crack myself up sometimes ;)
It has some whiskers, but no eye(s) as I forgot to purchase black thread. J has suggested a red eye (zombie bunny?) but I’ll either leave it as is or add one when I get black.

très cute! You could even do a tiny bead for the eye. I have seen white bunnies with red eyes – a little scary looking.
Thank you :) ! A tiny bead is a neat idea, and yes red eyes + white fur is a scary combo. The more I look at the piece, the more I’m thinking of leaving it as is… something about the stitch direction gives the illusion of an eye, at least as I see it.
